The point of measurement is the same for these types as for the wood
double hung shown above. The openings are determined from brick mold to
brick mold with the ruler laid against the "blind stop". In most cases,
storm sash for this type remove from the outside. However, there is the
occasional one lite that must remove from the inside. An example of this
is a one lite combination storm and screen covering a wood in-swinging
casement. Measure "A" and "B" and also check width of clear opening as
shown in sheet above.
Larger windows (above 56' x 56") should be made in multiple lite storm sash, Measure "A and "B" and show by diagram where the mullions, or divisions of one, two, or three lites are to fall. Also indicate whether these mullions are to be horizontal or vertical. |
